What is Pronto Progress?

Pronto Progress installs, maintains and develops systems integrations which allow our customers who are engaged in maintenance and repair (MRO), rental or leasing, job shop manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, banking, insurance, food and beverage, and aerospace to achieve their goals. Working with a variety of companies allows Pronto Progress to absorb then re-apply both technical know-how in Microsoft®, iOS and Progress® as well as personal communication and training skills and business knowledge to effectively solve problems for customers. ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning) that Pronto Progress has worked with include QAD’s MFG/PRO, Symix/Frontstep Syteline, Vantage, Vista, Dynamics, Navision and EPICOR. Our mantra is “Done Once. Software Developer (Full-Time)

This is a full cycle software developer position encompassing development, design, implementation, testing and support; the entire life cycle of software development and business solution integration is embodied in every employee of Pronto Progress. Business problem solving is what we do.

 

The technical skills required ultimately include SQL or other relational databases, Microsoft .NET in either C# or Visual Basic with Silverlight and Telerik/Kendo, HTML5, SSRS, Crystal Reports and Progress 4gl with ADM and WebSpeed and several other learn-able technologies. The qualified candidate will possess excellent communication skills, process development skills, and be a great team player. You'll experience, firsthand, our Project Garage techniques.

 

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience is required. 

 

Experience

All applicants must demonstrate the basic abilities to communicate, formulate a logical process, and possess sufficient knowledge of SQL, relational database technology, and a software development language so that they can reasonably be expected to develop new knowledge at a satisfactory pace.

 

Commence with Experience

$50,000 per year minimum, based on experience ($50,000 to $125,000 a year pay range).

Hours of Work

Full-Time 40 hours per week. First Shift, Monday–Friday

Software Developer (Full-Time)

Intern (Part-Time)

This is a three to six-week internship position encompassing development, design, implementation, testing and support.  The business solution integration is embodied in every intern or employee of Pronto Progress. Business problem solving is what we do.

During the Internship Program, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable on the job experience, obtain a reference letter or offer of employment.  You will also have the opportunity to learn and gain experience in SQL and C#.  You may have the opportunity to learn, be exposed to and utilize other languages such as:

 

·      C# and SQL

·      Telerik Kendo Tools

·      HTML5 and MVC

·      REST and SOAP Web Services

·      SSRS or Crystal Reports

·      JavaScript and NativeScript

·     JSON and JQUERY

·      Epicor ERP

·      Progress®

·      Silverlight

 

Overview

The internship program allows students, or those with little working knowledge or experience, to intern for three to six weeks under the supervision of a mentor.  After the program, there is a possibility of an employment offer or extension dependent upon performance during the internship. 

·      Work very closely with projects and software leads

·      Implement testing and identify new and innovative ways to test

·      Work closely in a team to improve the internal strategy

Qualifications

·      You must already possess verbal and written communication skills.

·      You must already be capable of solving programming related problems in a database environment.

The internship is not paid, however during the first 3 weeks the intern can earn a $1000 bonus upon successful completion.

The intern is then either offered an extension (the extension is $25 an hour), or conclude their internship with an employment reference contact and reference letter! With successful completion of the Project Garage extension, there is every likelihood of a full-time position. If you have earned a position with Pronto Progress but still have additional schooling prior to becoming a graduate, the position will be available to you following your graduation.

Education

Possess or currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering.
